Aka Saturday 23rd February 2019
No walking or weights today, today was a day of rest
(relatively speaking), where I just…
…took a Civil Service Judgement Test online (part of the
application process for post of ‘Briefing & Correspondence Lead’ post), scored
a 66% (which is a slight worry as the last time I did the test I scored a 93%,
although the time before I scored a 54%, and before that a 92% and before that
90%) and prepped for next week's interview…
…my New Comic Book Day comics arrived:
…and I watched ‘Predestination’, which is a very twisty and
timey wimey and I don’t think I can describe the story without spoiling the
film...
...I’ll just say that it’s a very intriguing story, which I think will
reward re-watching, just to see all the jigsaw pieces in movement (although if
you’re a fan of time travel stories, you may spot where the story is going),
that is well shot and directed and cast and wardrobed and lit, etc. 7/10.
…and I did the G2 Crossword:
…which ends the week on a relative high, of only needing to
cheat on an eighth of the clues (three out of 23), would have been a clean sweep
if (a) I hadn’t got stuck thinking of ‘flag’ (in 1 across) in the sense of
being tired, rather than as an object, I might have got ‘standard’ as the
answer, (b) gone for ‘lords’ rather than ‘dukes’ for clue 9 across, and (c)
know that the Manx parliament is called the ‘Tynwald’.
