Aka Monday 10th December 2018
Today I had my first Universal Credit meeting today, which went
well as I’m mostly doing what you’re meant to be doing when looking for a job.
We agreed that I would write a proper CV (all the jobs I’ve applied for so far
haven’t asked for a CV as they have either had an online proforma or asked for
a personal statement instead of a CV), that I would spend 3 – 4 hours a day
looking for work and would set up a LinkedIn profile. I also got my Personal
Security Number, which is…used to prove who I am when logging on to the
Universal Credit website. Our next meeting is at 10.50am on the 3rd
January, but hopefully I’ll have a job by then…
...I then spent the day setting up a LinkedIn Profile (is it me or is LinkedIn not very user-friendly and a bit of a messy website?), started work on a proper CV and applied for a civil service job...
…and I did the G2 Crossword:
…which gets the week off to an iffy start as I had to cheat
on nearly a quarter of the clues (seven out of 25), partly because of
foolishness, e.g. I went with ‘Greece’ for ‘Plato’s birthplace’ instead of
‘Athens’, partly due to my ignorance, e.g. I didn’t know that the ‘land
attached to a parish church’ is called a ‘glebe’, that ‘Sisley’ was a
‘impressionist painter of British nationality, d. 1899’ and that a ‘crocus’ is
a ‘Spring-flowering plant’, maybe Tuesday’s crossword will go better.
