Aka Saturday 8th December 2018
Today I made my first (after a couple of dodgy prior attempts) proper omelette, with ham and cheese.
I don’t like eggs, unless they’re in a cake, but I was looking after my nephew
and he wanted an omelette for breakfast, so we watched a video (from the BBC’s
'Good Food' website), cooked it up and he ate and liked it. So, job done!
…I then made a mini-Lego Star Destroyer (and the mini Imperial Pilot that also came with the Lego Star Wars magazine):
…read a bit more of ‘Broadsword Calling Danny Boy’ and I did
the G2 Crossword:
…which ended the week on a pretty high note (but not the
highest), as I only had to cheat on one twelfth of the clues (two out of 23),
must be due to no interview worries. I should have gotten ‘hybrid’ from
‘cross’, but I got stuck thinking about ‘cross’ as in angry or moving
something, not cross breeding or pollinating. And I learnt more about the philosopher's
stone. I always thought it was a literal stone that transmuted substances, but
it’s a “legendary alchemical substance capable of turning base metals such as
mercury into gold or silver…It is also called the elixir of life, useful for
rejuvenation and for achieving immortality”.
