Today I did some concrete work on writing my presentation,
basically putting down my thoughts onto the page, which I can then shape into
something coherent for next Friday…
…'Rick and Morty’ #44 arrived and tells the tale of ‘Vindicators’
1, where Rick and Morty first team up (and I use the words team up loosely),
written by Kyle Starks, illustrated by Marc Ellerby, coloured by Sarah Stern
and lettered by Crank!, and the penultimate episode of Rick and Morty’s adventures
in the Public Domain, written by Tini Howard, illustrated by Jarrett Williams,
coloured by Sarah Stern and lettered by Crank!
As per usual the teams do a great job in capturing the
spirit of the TV show. Although it would be nicer if the stories were a little
longer, it kinda feels like we’re getting a starter and dessert, but no main
course 😊 7/10.
…I also got slightly annoyed at 'The Guardian' as my copy of ‘The
Guide’ had a third cut off, meaning that the 'Modern Toss' cartoon was
incomplete, so I had to go out and get another copy (the 'Modern Toss' cartoon
and the cartoon & puzzles make up 75% of why I get 'The Guardian' on a Saturday).
It was bad enough when they changed the paper stock, too something more light
weight and feeble, more like the newsprint from the ‘80’s, cut the word count
and introduced less interesting articles/writers, but cutting a third off of
the issue is taking the cake!!!…
…and I did the G2 Crossword:
…which went much better than yesterday’s as I only had to
cheat on a twelfth of the clues (two out of 25), I didn’t know that oloroso and
amontillado are sherries and didn’t get ‘sombre’ from ‘melancholic’, but the
rest of the answers just flowed, flowed like a very fluid fluid flowing down a
steep incline.
