Yeah, feeling off and anxious is continuing and is a bit
worse, so much that I’ve called off my morning walk and work-out today, so I
just did the G2 crossword…
…and watched 'The Count of Monte Cristo'. This is the 2002
film of the book and it’s a swashbuckling adventure ride that whizzes past and
kinda feels like a precursor or trial run for Pirates of the Caribbean. The
film is full of great actors and it does a good job of keeping the themes of the
book and adding action and set pieces, such as the hot air balloon (although I
should note that this view is borne mostly from watching the featurettes on the
DVD, as I haven’t read the book and only know it’s main points, betrayal and
revenge and redemption, from watching the ‘70’s film version and the books
impact on culture, e.g. The Simpsons parody, it’s reference in the V for
Vendetta film, etc.)
