Day 778

Aka Tuesday 19^th March 2019

Had my long walk today and managed to walk 10.05km (6.24miles) in 1 hour 53 minutes and 29 seconds, which burnt 1,100 calories and took 12,724 steps…

 

...I also took a bit of a tumble on the street and broke my shoes and tore my joggers:

…I’m not sure what I tripped on as when I looked back there was no rope, strings, branches or anything else my foot/feet could have gotten tangled up in and the paving slabs didn’t look particularly uneven. Anyway, it didn’t hurt that much and I was able to continue on with my walk and when I got home, and had washed the dirt out of my hands and knees, I did some weights…

…then I completed and submitted an application for a briefing officer post and I should at least get to the interview stage as I spent the best part of 15 years being a Briefing Officer (combined with being a Policy Officer/Adviser)!, but let’s see…

…and I did the G2 Crossword:

…which doesn’t continue the hot streak, as today’s crossword takes a little nose dive and I have to cheat on a fifth of the clues (four out of 21). Most of the clues were a bit of a grind, I don’t think that the little grey cells were firing on all cylinders. They couldn’t get ‘closeted’ from ‘confined to a small space’ and went for ‘glade’ instead of ‘grove’, but I did learn that an ‘adult insect post-metamorphosis’ is an ‘imago’ (although that might have come up in the past) and that ‘payment of money from a fund’ is a ‘disbursement’.
