Aka Tuesday 5th March 2019
Most of this morning was spent thinking about and doing last
minute prep for this afternoon’s interview…then I got the train into London and
had the interview…
...and I think it went well, I think I came across as capable
and personable…I would mark it as 7 out of ten…I think there was plenty of note
taking (for the first few minutes you’re very aware of notes being taken, but
as you get into explaining what you did/responding to the questions you don’t
focus on it), panel were very nice and pleasant and would be nice to work with,
the interview lasted for 30 - 35 minutes, which seems like the right amount of
time, how I just need to wait to hear back from them…my one take away is that I
need to work on/practise my examples of when things went wrong or were difficult
and what I did to resolve the situation…
…and on the train home I read some more of Faith Erin Hicks's
‘Comics Will Break Your Heart’, which felt like the mental equivalent of
slipping into a bubble bath. I’m only a few chapters into the story but Faith
has created a believable and relatable world and characters, that you enjoy
being with…
…and I did the G2 Crossword:
…and it doesn’t get better with today’s crossword and I have
to cheat on a third of the clues (eight out of 25). It’s like a mental fog,
where I can see some of the answers, but most of them are beyond the reach of
my little grey cells and it’s a grind to get them out. But I did learn that
‘erelong’ means ‘soon (poetically) and that ‘Boswell’ was ‘Samuel Johnson’s
biographer’.
