Aka Sunday 24th February 2019
I went for a morning constitutional, aka my long walk, and
managed to walk 9.88km (6.14 miles), in 1 hour 50 minutes and 59 seconds, which
burnt through 1,100 calories and took 12,469 steps…
…then I read ‘The Wild Storm’ #20, in which Warren Ellis
unleashes the full fury and power of Apollo and Midnighter in an almost issue
long fight defending a small town against Skywatch troops, which is expertly
illustrated by Jon Davis-Hunt and Steve Buccellato, with some glorious set
pieces, included the comics equivalent of the ‘Oldboy’ corridor scene. A great
action filled issue, which also moves our characters closer to the final
showdown. 8/10.
…and then read ‘Savage Dragon’ #242, another issue that
manages to balance straight-up superheroics, personal drama and humour, in
which Malcom and Ant battle Ragnok (who has been ‘taken over’ by a 1%er), while
Malcolm and Maxine’s personal life is complicated by Angel, who tells the kids
who their real parents are. 8/10.
…and then I prepped for next Thursday's interview…
