Aka Thursday 25th April 2019
At work, I’ve been taking the stairs up to the 8th
floor, instead of the lift, and it’s a good workout, but it does knacker me out
for ten minutes afterwards!!!
During lunch I picked up the latest copy of Record Collector, when tells the story of ‘Let It Bleed’ and ‘Let It Be’, but tells
the story of them together, detailing what the members of The Stones and The Beatles were going through (and the wider world) and how it might have impacted
on the bands and their records. Which is a nice change for usual, where the
albums are considered on their own.
When I got home the postie had delivered ‘The Leopard Vol.3’, by Sarah Horrocks, which I haven’t read yet, as I’m feeling pretty knackered/drained when I
get back from work and don’t really feel like reading, just feel like zoning
out in front of the TV. But I did flick through quickly and it looks like the
intensity as been ramped up:
...although I did read ‘Snotgirl’ #13, in which Lottie opens
a pop-up shop, which does surprising well, but things aren’t going well for
Meg, Sunny and John bond, and the mystery surrounding Coolgirl deepens. A nice
slice-of-Snotgirl’s-life issue, as we get to see her have a more normal day,
all while we get a bit more insight into Coolgirl. 7/10. (Bryan Lee O’Malley
and Leslie Hung, creators, writer and artist, Rachal Cohen, colourist, and Mare
Odomo, letterer, and Studio Jfish, colour flatting assist)
…and I did the G2 Crossword:
…which was a supersonic flyer, as I didn’t have to cheat on
any of the 21 clues, it did take a while to work out some of the answers, but I
got a complete clean sweep. The excitement of seeing 'Avengers: Endgame' tomorrow
must have all my little grey cells firing on all cylinders…
