Day 828

Aka Wednesday 8th May 2019

As a little treat I got the latest issue of Lego Star Wars, for the mini-figure of IG-88:

…and then, after I’d put together IG-88 and completed the G2 Crossword, as an extra treat, I went into London Town to get this weeks New Comic Book Day gems:

…and to do a little bit of shopping (for things that the local shops don’t have) and I got this CD of the New Barbarians live, the New Barbarians were the touring band for Ronnie Wood and was made up of Ronnie and Keith Richards, Stanley Clarke, Zigaboo Modeliste, Ian McLagan and Bobby Keys. 'Buried Alive’ is roughly two hours of great rock ‘n’ roll, and some Blues and Country (it’s a little bit sloppy, but that adds to the rock ‘n’ rollness!), and I got book about Anton Newcombe of the Brian Jonestown Massacre (only read the intro and first chapter, but it’s a great read so far):

…and another copy of John Carpenter’s ‘The Thing’, but this time it’s in a special VHS style box and comes with a DVD and Blu-Ray copy of the film, a trading card, poster and sicker and it just looks great, just beautiful:

…I also got this free copy of a ‘Terminator Salvation’ tie-in book, I thought that the film wasn’t that bad, so maybe the book will be ok?:

…and here are some pictures I took along the Thames Delta on my way to the train station and London:

…and I did the G2 Crossword which went almost as well as yesterday’s as I only had to cheat on a twelfth of the clues, two out of 24, the answers came plenty easy – who wouldn’t get ‘Jedi’ from ‘Star Wars warrior (4)’ or ‘cardiologist’ from ‘heart specialist’ – although I did mistaken ‘Twelfth Night’ for ‘Titus Andronicus’!!! And I should have gotten ‘doldrums’ from ‘state of inactivity or stagnation’, maybe the twinge in my back, which is making me sit up straight, is sending more blood to my brain to help the little grey cells???

…I also did the Metro and Evening Standard crosswords, even tried the cryptics, but couldn’t get any of the Metro’s clues!, at least not confident enough to write them down, but got a few of the Standard’s, although mostly/only where the answer is hidden in the clue:
