Days One Hundred and One to 106

Had to do a Windows software update, which took the best part of an hour. Why does it take so long to do an update which seems to make no changes. It’s damn infuriating.

There was another new comic book day:

And season 2 of Daredevil was released. S2 really picks up the pace and has a stellar take on the Punisher and a pretty damn good take on Elektra (sometimes it seemed like the Elektra in the early episodes hadn’t been trained by Stick) and doesn’t seem to care about the status quo and happily moves the characters forward as a consequence of the story and doesn’t keep them together to tread water.

I brought an Ion record player and spent the best part of a day ‘ripping’ my vinyl, editing the resulting WAV files, converting them to mp3s and then adding tag information. Only to find out later that I’d ‘ripped’ them too quietly and I’m going to have to re-do them!!!

I got the new Mark Thomas book, The Liar’s Quartet (http://www.markthomasinfo.co.uk/we-have-a-new-book/), which collect the scripts for Mark’s last three shows. I’ve been a fan of Mark for a long time and he has perfected a great blend of comedy, pathos and politics. There’s a lot of humour and heart in this book and a highly recommend it.

I also ordered a bunch of Sandals music:

A real trip down memory lane, the Sandals do a great job of producing a heady blend of acid jazz and trip-hop, and really deserve to be mentioned in the same breathe as your Massive Attacks, Portishead’s, Earthling’s and Mo’Wax.
