Day 178

Today I’m feeling much better, my cold is almost gone and I’m not feeling half as nervous/panicy as before I caught my cold. Maybe the cold has cured me or maybe the cold medicine I’ve been taking has cured me or at least masked/tempered the anxiety/panic attacks.

I walked into town to do my weekly foodshop and picked up a copy of Guns N’ Roses Appetite for Destruction and Lies albums.

Reading the Kerrang article on the 30th anniversary of Appetite’s release reminded me how good the album is and as I couldn’t find my copy I decided to get a new copy (plus Lies as it was on special offer). Welcome To The Jungle, Mr Brownstone, Paradise City and Sweet Child Of Mine are classics and still sound as good today as they did thirty years ago.

When I got back from town I found this on my door mat:

The Claremont 56 ten year anniversary compilation. Claremont 56 is a record label that releases downbeat/Balearic/krautrocky/discoy music and the compilation has some great tracks on it (like the Baldelli & Diongi remix of Bison’s Familiar Stranger or Statues River Darkness or the Nad Tyler Epic Fail mix of Mudd & Pollard’s Scaffold) and there’s a third disc of Idjut Boys edits of Claremont 56 tracks. This is a great comp and I would highly recommend that you get it asap.
