Aka Friday 12th October 

Popped into town and picked up some CD’s:

...the reissue of Primal Scream’s ‘Give Out, But Don’t Give Up – The Original Memphis Recordings’ aka The Ardent Sessions, which sound more soulful and chilled than the original released version of ‘Give Out…’, but I’ll have to give it a couple more listens and compare to the original release to get all the differences.

...Tess Parks and Anton Newcombe’s ‘Tess Parks & Anton Newcombe’, a great combination of jangly C86 indie and shoegaze, just perfect and catnip for me!, and

...Factory Floor’s ‘A Soundtrack For A Film’, which I haven’t listened to yet (but it has gotten good
 reviews).

I also got a couple of DVD’s - ‘Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid’ and ‘The Searchers’, which I remember really enjoying, but haven’t seen in a dog’s age.

…and on the way home from the shops there was a lorry blocking the way, not even any attempt to leave some space of people to pass through, I guess the guy who parked it thought that there was plenty of space on the road for prams and buggies and wheelchair users and mobility scooters, etc. to get by…

…did some more work on the new job application taking into account the feedback from Wednesday's rejected application…

…and I did the G2 crossword:

…and the upswing continued with Friday’s crossword, although did have to grind it out. My first pass of the gird and I was only happy with two of my answers! But after a little persevering I only needed to cheat on a sixth of the clues (four out of 24), but I’m a bit annoyed that I didn’t get ‘another’ from ‘one more’, ‘mislay’ from ‘lose’ and that I went for ‘height’ and not ‘length’ for ‘object’s longest dimension’ and ‘Athenia’ for ‘Greek Goddess of the hunt’ and not ‘Artemis’!, not only did I use the wrong God, I misspelled ‘Athena’!
