…watched the ‘Ray Romano: Right Here, Around the Corner’
Netflix special…’Everyone Loves Raymond’ was a staple of my working week, Channel
Four used to show three episodes in the morning and I’d watch an episode while
having breakfast and getting ready and tape the rest and watch them in the evening…the
combination of humour and family life was comfortable and easy going…and
because Channel Four have had it on near rotation for the last ten years or so
I think I’ve seen the whole series at least three times…so I was interested in
seeing what Ray’s stand-up is like and it’s good…you can see how it got translated
into a sitcom and how close he and TV Ray are…some of the material is more
adult compared to ‘Everyone Loves Raymond’…but it still has a wholeness to it
and doesn’t feel that dirty. 8/10.
…and I did the G2 Crossword:
…and I had to cheat on three clues for today’s crossword,
but there were fewer clues, so it works out to cheating on a sixth of the
clues. If I’d known that ‘Rockefeller’ was the surname of Gerald Ford’s vice
president, that a ‘fretsaw’ is a ‘narrow-bladed cutter’ and that ‘fever’ also
means ‘intense nervous excitement or anticipation’ it would have been a clean
score.
