So today (Friday 13th July) was the start of Trump’s
visit to the UK and I had been thinking about joining the protest in London (which
was the closest protest I knew of), but I decided not to go as (a) I didn’t know
anyone else who was protesting and I don’t feel comfortably being on my own in
a crowd, (b) I couldn’t really justify the expense (train fare, lunch and
dinner in London, etc.) and (c) I couldn’t work out if Trump would like to have
a big protest, so he could boast that it was the “…biggest ever…”, or if he would
even notice, what with his been kept far away from any0the bigger protests.
So, instead I just did my weekly food shop and picked up ‘Salt’,
a nice spy flick, with plenty of action and twists, and on the DVD three
different versions, theatrical, director’s cut and extended version! I also got
the album ‘Jellies’ by 77:78, which I’ve only listened to a couple of times,
but it is very sunny and ‘60’s indieish. I like it and it went really well with
sitting in the garden, enjoying a few vodkas and doing the crossword:
