Aka Wednesday 4th January 2023
Second day back in the office today and the first day of our sub-Hub going live, which means the first day of training new people on the post side of things. The afternoon was spent on reception, which was busy, lots of people needing help to find somewhere to live or to pay a parking ticket or just dropping off paperwork. So, it was nice to have a drink or two after work and then to watch some ‘Elementary’:
…early in the week I mentioned that I’d been watching the Basil Rathbone Sherlock Holmes films and a friend asked if I’d watched ‘Elementary’. I said that I hadn’t, and they lent me the first few seasons. And I’ve enjoyed the first few episodes. One of the reason I hadn’t watched it was that I assume that it, being an American production wouldn’t be as good as the BBC’s ‘Sherlock’, but after these first few episodes I’m starting to think that this version is the better one…and my copy of ’Wolverine/Doop’ #2 arrived:
…I’ve been meaning to pick this mini-series up for a while now, how can you pass on Peter Milligan and Darwyn Cooke taking on two iconic X-Men, all I need now is #1!…and I did today’s G2 Crossword:
…and things do get better, the little grey cells thrash Wednesday’s clues and we only had to cheat on 4.35% of the clues (one out of 23) and we only got caught out on not getting ‘roly-poly’ from ‘bake or steamed pudding made of suet pastry’…
