And it’s back to work today, after having New Year’s Day off, and things were relatively quiet, which was helpful as I still felt a bit off with the Jager bombs on Tuesday evening…and there were no New Comic Book Day comics to pick up today, what with it being the New Year and all, but I did do today’s G2 Crossword:

…which went a tad worse than yesterdays. I had to cheat on a third of the clues again (eight out of 23). Like Monday’s grid it was really hard to get started, on my first pass I only got a couple of answers that I was happy with. Although at one of the clues was a little misleading, ‘high-ranking army officer (5,3)’ should have had a ‘(slang)’ to let you know that it wasn’t an actual rank, but a slang term that was the answer. And I missed some obvious answers, like ‘fact’ for ‘actuality’ and that ‘collective’ means ‘done by people acting together’, but I did learn that ‘celerity’ means ‘speed’, that ‘echt’ means ‘genuine – honest’ and that a ‘florin’ was an ‘old two-bob bit’.
