Day 151

Still feel unwell and now I’m thinking that maybe I should stop my prescription for a day or two to see if that as any effect. At the moment, I’ve stopped drinking anything that isn’t water in case too much orange juice or alcohol is causing me to feel unwell.

And as I’d watched Captain America: The Winter Soldier yesterday I watched Captain America: Civil War. I really like both these films as they build on the previous Marvel films and set up future films while still being fun, action-packed emotional stories. They also manage to cherry pick the best bits of the comics while ignore the stuff that didn’t work (e.g. having Cap vs Iron Man, but not using the comic book reason for their fight).

I’d also watched a load of old Have I Got News For You on youtube, this great Louis Theroux interview on Scientologyand Battleship, which is a great b-movie/pop-corn film, lots of action, derring-do and set-pieces.

I read Renato Jones, Freelancer Season 2 #2, which is about (in a nutshell) a vigilante who takes on the 1%:

This is a weird comic, as it does take on some very serious issue, but does have its tongue on its cheek:

At the moment, Renato is having a crisis of conscience and is ensure if he is making a difference and  it’ll be interesting to see where Andrews’ takes the story next, as he has built up a lot of character arcs/developments in the main and supporting cast that are outside of the “…the rich are evil and deserve to be punished…”.

There is also an interesting letter in #2 defending the 1%/the rich and equating them with persecuted minorities (such as BMEs, LGBT people, etc.) which ignores the fact that being rich is a choice (you can give away your money, but you can’t stop being black, Asian, gay, trans, etc.) and that since the last financial crash the richer have gotten much richer and secure and the poor have gotten poorer and less secure.

I also decided to stop taking medication (so no 11pm dose) to see if that’ll help make me feeling better (or not).
