Days 1078 and 1079

Aka Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th January 2020

A quiet weekend, mostly pottering about, doing the washing, a quick bit of tidying up, etc. Mostly catching up on sleep and getting ready for the new working week. Nothing very exciting…

…although I did go for the first Long Walk of the year today (and I really need to get back to making these a regular thing. Aside from a short twenty-five-minute walk to and back from work and walking up ten flights of stairs at work, this is the only real cardio workout I get. And I may have to join a gym to get access to an exercise bike or rowing machine or treadmill to get a harder cardio workout. Plus there's the CBT effect of tackling the bridge and steps)…

…I also, when getting my paper, bumped into young KOR, who has a part-time job at a local supermarket near to home, which was nice. KOR has been, at least for me, a shot of fresh blood. Looking back I feel like I had been in a bit of a rut, or maybe stupor, where I was either thinking about the past or the future (e.g. get the 12 months under my belt and then I can start looking for a promotion or I kinda miss working in London and being close to the heart of things), rather than appreciating the here and now and helping train her at work and just chatting and seeing things from her pov has helped me to be a bit more present time focused. I shouldn’t be putting things on hold, waiting for the future to arrive. Just like the Tarot said I should be doing (which leads to the question of whether the Tarot predicted this or I’m retroactively reading this into the Tarot reading or both. Probably both. Or the latter 😊)…

…when I got home from my Long Walk I made the mini-Lego Snowspeeder:

…and then I did Saturday’s G2 Crossword (number 15,500!):

…which ends the week on an okay note, I only had to cheat on a sixth of the clues (three out of 19), but the three I missed were obvious ones – ‘vast’ from ‘boundless’, ‘photon’ from ‘quantum of electromagnetic radiation’ and ‘trickster’ from ‘practical joker’, that I think that the little grey cells might need a holiday…maybe a trip down the Nile or on the Orient Express perhaps…
