aka Mon 12
– Sun 25 Mar (although I'm writing this on the 11th of May...only a month and a half behind...hence the...brevity!!!)
This fortnight:
1. I finally finished installing the Windows 10 update on
Monday afternoon on my mini-laptop. It had been such a frustrating experience,
especially as the failed updates take up space on your hard drive and it’s not
clear that (a) this is happening and (b) how to remove these failed updates. At
least it’s done now.
2. I watched season two of Jessica Jones, which was pretty
good, despite the main plot arch/big bad couldn’t really hold up for all the
episodes (it could have been dealt with in six episodes), there were plenty of
secondary/minor plot points that get things ticking along nicely (such as one
characters illness, another character maturing and moving on).
3. I brought some DVDs, Channel 5’s production of Christie’s Crooked
House and a Pink Panther boxset (which turns out not to be a complete set of
Pink Panther films, just the best (?) five films):
4. I also brought loads of great CDs: the Prophets Of Rage EP and
LP, a Public Enemy Best Of, Electronics’ Getting Away With It EP, Mark
Pritchard’s Four Worlds, the Moments In Time compilation, the new Herbaliser
album, Bring Out The Sound, Tom Middleton’s Sleep Better CD, two Rage Against
The Machine CDs (Rage Against The Machine and The Battle Of Los Angeles), the
reissue of Fatboy Slim’s ‘You’ve Come A Long Way Baby (20th Ann.
Edition)’, the MC5’s first LP and Cher’s first two LPs.
5. I finally started and finished editing my vinyl rips, which
was simple enough but time consuming.
6. I brought some great comics on New Comic Book Day, including Tintin’s Secret of the Unicorn and Red Rackham’s Treasure:
9. I restarted my anxiety online counselling course (or at
least when my internet connection was working and I could watch the videos!!!)
10. I started to watch season 3 of Twin Peaks.
11. It started to snow again:
