Day 140

Today was the conclusion of our celery experiment. My nephew has a science kit and he loves the colour experiments where you mix different colours to make other colours. One of the other experiments takes this a bit further with celery (and you can also use white flowers), where the celery sucks up the dye and changes colour:

We expected the entire celery to change colour, but’s only certain parts inside the celery that change colour:

I also watched some more episodes of Rick and Morty and The Dying Of The Light on Netflix. The Dying Of The Light is an odd film, starring Nic Cage as an aged CIA agent who has dementia and wants to catch a terrorist who has evaded him for twenty years. It’s kinda touching to see Cage’s character trying not to succumb to the dementia until he has closed this chapter in his life/resolved this unresolved conflict, even if it does climax with a needed gun battle.

And I read Jason Arnopp’s A Sincere Warning About The Entity In Your Home and started Beast In The Basement. Both are scary, with A Sincere… being a traditional ghost/spirit story told in a really interesting way and Beast… a twisty psychological horror story. Again, both are highly recommend and I don't think I can give any more details without spoiling the twists, jumps and scares.

I also got the latest Miranda Lee Richards LP (Existential Beast) and a CD of the Muddy Waters and The Rolling Stones playing live in Chicago 1981, which should be some great listening.
