Day 933

Aka Monday 19th August 2019

I had a day off work today, partially to get a crown fitting, but mostly to just take a breather/long weekend. It also meant that I was able to go for a Long Walk (a penance for the joy of a day off!):

…and I was glad to see that I was still able to overcome my two foes:

...the foot bridge over the train lines and the steps down to the beach. For some reason these two trigger my anxiety (maybe because they make me feel exposed and vulnerable?) and in the past it has gotten so bad that I have had to avoid them, which is a ridiculous thing to have to do. But the more I purposefully use them and “beat” them the more I learn to cope with the anxiety. Thanks CBT!

…and I did today’s G2 Crossword:

…which got the week off to an okay, average start. Most of the clues were straight forward after the little grey cells had chewed them over, and I only had to cheat on a fifth (or so) of the clues (five out of 23, which give me an Illuminati score). So, swings and roundabouts. I should have gotten ‘bailiff’ from ‘landlord’s agent’, but I was thinking about whoever it is that organises things at the start of the tenancy, the letting agent?, and not about the end of an tenancy. And ‘crescendo’ and ‘delete’ just evaded the little grey cells, but I have learnt that ‘silage’ is ‘partially fermented fodder’ and that a ‘melange’ is an ‘assortment’…
