Aka Friday 28th December 2018
Today I pooped into town to do a little food shopping. I
also brought a new comics magazine, ‘Comic Scene’, which some nice articles about 'Klaus and the Crying Snowman' and 'Deaths Head', and when I got back home ‘Mars
Attacks’ #3 had arrived:
…I then started work on two new job applications and tried
to sort out problems with a third job application (I need to complete an online
test, but the deadline for doing so was incorrect, it was given as 6/1/2018
instead of 6/1/2019, which means that the system thinks I have missed the
deadline, so I'm waiting to hear back from the agency)…
…then I watched ‘Death Rides A Horse’, a great Spaghetti Western
starring Lee Van Cleef as a gunfighter who has just been released from prison after
fifteen years and he has one purpose. To get revenge on his old gang who were
responsible for sending him to prison, by framing him for armed robbery. There’s
another man looking for this gang, John Phillip Law, who wants revenge on them
for killing his family. There follows lots of gunfights, a few fistfights, betrayal,
twists and close ups of faces. It’s a really fun Spaghetti Western and reminded
me of how great Mr Van Cleef was. 8/10.
…and I did the G2 Crossword:
…and the dip continues with today’s crossword as I need to
cheat on a quarter of the clues (five out of 19). The answers just won’t coming
to me, maybe I’m too worried about the crossword setter, what with answers like
‘adultery’, ‘heartache’ and ‘zero hour’.
