Aka Monday 1st January 2024
…went for a Morning Walk, the first (of hopefully many) of 2024, the first sunrise of 2024 (somewhere behind the clouds!):

…which covered 6.42km, in 8,369 steps in one hour sixteen minutes and 18 seconds and burnt 611 calories…and I watched a few films today (trying to get through my piles of DVDs and “watch later” lists. Starting with ‘Green Lantern’, which wasn’t as bad as I heard it was, but it was fairly middling and I’m not sure how non-GL fans would have found it, but yeah, an okay watch:
…then I watched ‘The Green Knight’:
…which I found very hard to get into, the first twenty-ish minutes, for me, really dragged, but then it picked up and became this intriguing tone poem/ambient film. And to finish off I rewatched ‘Enter The Dragon’:
…which is just a great kung-fu film (with dashes of philosophy) and it’s no wonder that it became the iconic film it is…and I listened to the new release from Richard Norris, 'Music For Healing Freetones – January':
…two tracks of beautiful chilledness…and I also made a couple of New Years resolutions, to pay off Barclaycard number one and to lose 20kg by the end of the year (from 132.2kg to 112.2kg) and to read more, at least one chapter a day, and listen to more music…to this end I started reading Chuck Palahniuk’s ‘Not Forever, But For Now’, which I brought a few months ago:
…and it’s a weird read as it touches on some controversial issues (or at least potentially, depending on how the story continues)…and I did today’s G2 Crossword:
…and Monday’s crossword kicks off the new crossword week and the first of 2024 in grand style, as the little grey cells smashed all 21 clues without breaking a sweat! I guess it goes to show what an early night and clear head can achieve, but will it last? Let’s find out…and I did the Metro's cryptic crossword, which went pretty well:
