Aka Wednesday 7th November 2018
Back felt better today, but still had a bit of a twitch, but
I was able to pop into London Town and picked up these New Comic Book Day
beauties:
...and yes, 'The Wicked + The Divine: The Funnies' #1 is signed by one of the artist's, Julia Madrigal. And if you want a signed Julia copy you should pop into the London comic shop Orbital...
…I also picked up the latest Lego Star Wars magazine, which
has a mini Poe Dameron’s X-Wing and Kylo Ren’s Shuttle and a free Lego Star
Wars Trading Card (the one I got is Luke Skywalker vs Darth Vader)…
…I think all the walking around today has helped my back
feel better, I’ve been told that doing little stretches can help and I think the
natural stretching that happens when you’re walking have helped relieve the
pain…
…It also gave me time to think about this sleep article in
Monday’s G2, which has been bugging me since I read it and I’ve worked out what
it is…
…it’s point one, that the bedroom should only be used for
sleeping (and sex, which can also help you get to sleep). That you should “stop
using it as your living room”, which assumes that everyone has other room that
they can use to read, watch TV/DVDs, just sit and think, eat in, etc., when the
reality is that lots of people don’t. We are living on bedsits, studio flats, shared
houses/flats, temporarily accommodation/B&BS, environments that can lead to
stress which can lead to poor/lack of sleep, and have no other room/space to go
to, you are effectively stuck in one room, unless you go out, and they aren’t
many public places that you can go to for free, so being told to watch TV in
the living room not the bedroom is no help…
…changing the tone, I did pick up some more Walker’s
Christmas crisps (strap line 'Christmas dinner for sprout haters'):
…which has two new flavours, along with Turkey &
Stuffing, Glazed Ham (which tastes like a sweeter bacon flavour) and Cheese &
Cranberry (which tastes like a jammier cheese and onion flavour), both of which
taste nicer than my descriptions would suggest!...
…and I did the G2 Crossword:
…which went a bit better than yesterday’s, almost as good as
Monday’s, as I only needed to cheat on a seventh of the clues (3 out of 21),
it’s like I’m an answer machine! And I learnt that ‘beryl’ is both a name and a
gemstone, that a ‘thin strip of wood’ is called a ‘lath’ and that ‘Lyon’ is a
‘river port, capital of the Rhone department’.
