Aka Friday 5th October
Woke early feeling sick, which being swiftly progressed to
being sick, so I didn’t really get up to too much today, including not being
able to keep my plan to meet up with a friend and see Venom...
…I mostly watched some TV (but without paying much attention
to what I was watching, except episode three of Season Three of the ‘The Good Place’, which is still fun and
involving, I was on tenterhooks when Trevor the demon appeared
and targets our heroes so that they'll act in such a manner that they end up being sent back to The Bad Place) and doing the
G2 crossword:
… and the crossword nosedive continued on Friday, with
needing to cheat on eight of the 24 clues, I just couldn’t get wring the
answers out of the clues, but I did learn that ‘Bray’ is a ‘Berkshire village
with a 16th-century vicar celebrated in legend and song’ (although I
have no idea what that legend or song is!), that a ‘reefer’ is a
‘double-breasted jacket for a man’ and that the ‘mastiff’ is a ‘large short-haired
dog breed’. Although I didn’t get it, I did like ‘land in water’ (19 across)
for ‘isle’, I thought it meant to land a plane in water, not physical land!
