Aka Saturday 15th September
I did a bit of prognosticating and watched ‘The Next Three Days’ (a good film, I thought that it would be an action film, but it’s a
thriller and almost a love story) and ‘Bushwick’ (this is defo an action film and
is more intelligent than the Netflix description suggests) but I did finally
get started on and completed my first job application in something like 15
months, I’m not 100% happy with it, but I think I covered all of the
specifications and I didn’t have any further time to work on it! Plus, I think
that the more that I looked at it the more I was nit-picking and not really
improving it. Fingers crossed that it gets me through to the interview stage! (I
also re-used this application for another job, as the deadline for that job only
had a few hours left on it and I’d spent more time than expected on the first job
application.)
The postman has been again and today he delivered:
…Sarah Horrocks' Goro #7 and CD2 of ‘I Want You’ by the Utah Saints (as was
the practice in the ‘90’s ‘I Want You’ was released as a two CD set and the
first time I ordered this, from a different company, they sent me CD1, but when
I pointed this out they gave me a refund and let me keep the CD.)
…I also listened to more ‘The Thing Minute’ podcast episodes and I did
the G2 crossword…
…which ends the crossword week on a down note, as I needed
to cheat on seven of the 23 clues, but there was a bumper crop of learning – a
‘sheriff’s officer’ is a ‘tipstaff’, the author of the French novel Gigi is
Colette, that ‘Galilee’ is in the ‘northern region of ancient Israel’ and that
‘Wells’ is a ‘Somerset cathedral city’.
