Day 799

Aka Tuesday 9th April 2019

Went for a Long Walk and walked 10.51km (or 6.53miles) in 1 hour 53 minutes and 2 seconds, which took 12,946 steps and burnt 1,000 calories:

…and back home I worked on a new application, but later on in the afternoon Hays called to let me know that I had gotten the temp data entry post, so I accepted and breathed a sigh of relief…and I start next Monday…yes it’s just a temporary position for a month, but it pays much more than I get in Universal Credit and it’s a foot back on the work ladder and it’ll give me a chance to show to potential employees that my two year break in employment is due to me being unemployable, that I can do the 9-to-5 jive…I then informed the Universal Credit team of my upcoming change in circumstances and took the rest of the day off in (low key) celebration…

…and I did the G2 Crossword:

…which went the opposite way compared to yesterday's crossword, the little grey cells were on top of their game and I only had to cheat on one clue! Almost a clean sweep, but I didn’t know that ‘mezzo-soprano’ was a ‘female singing voice’…

Day 798

Aka Monday 8th April 2019

Walked 5.02km (3.12miles), in 1 hour 20 minutes and 30 seconds, which burnt 489 calories and took 6,232steps…and it was a bit overcast...

A relatively quiet day again, I went into town for interview with the Hays agency, giving a bit more detail about what work I was looking for, my job history and taking a data entry test, before (and after) the interview I completed some standard Hays forms, providing a detailed job history, details of references/referees, and setting me up on their system. I also completed and submitted an application for a policy advisor post at the Department for Transport…

…then I watched ‘The International’, which is a pretty good thriller with a great cast, and if I wasn’t so far behind in keeping this diary up to date I would talk about a little more, and ‘Legion’, which is a pretty poor thriller/action film with a great cast, that isn’t worth talking about more…

…and I did the G2 Crossword:

…which gets the week off to a pretty bad start as I had to cheat on over a quarter of the clues, nearly a third (seven out of 25). While most of the clues were relatively easy to solve, with a little thought, those seven were impenetrable! And I really should have gotten most of them, but on the bright side I did learn that ‘parthenogenetic’ means ‘asexual’.

Day 797

Aka Sunday 7th April 2019

Another quiet day, I went for my Long Walk and walked 9.92km (6.16miles) in 1 hour 52 seconds and 20 seconds, which burnt 959 calories and took 12,578 steps…and here’s a few pictures from my walk:

…and when I got home I worked on a new job application (at least the nose dive in my financial situation is good for focusing my mind on job hunting!)
