Day 696

Aka Thursday 27^th December 2018

Today I did a bit of job hunting. I updated my LinkedIn profile (is it me or does LinkedIn look really ‘busy’ and cluttered and non-user friendly?), checked LinkedIn, NHS jobs, the Essex Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner and Southend Council for appropriate jobs and identified some to follow up...

…I also watched ‘State Of Play’ (the film, not the TV series), which was pretty damn good. Well written, directed, acted, set design, etc. and almost as good as the TV series, but I think that that is due to the TV series have more time to focus on the characters and for us to get to know them than the film had. 8/10. And I watched ‘Ouija: Origin Of Evil’ which nicely built the tension has the film progressed and while it wasn’t completely new and original, was a good scary movie, well written, directed, acted, set design, etc. 7/10.

…and I did the G2 Crossword:

…and today’s crossword has a bit of a dip as I had to cheat on a sixth of the clues (three out of 18), maybe I was put off by the slightly unchristmasy nature of some of the answers – ‘opiates’, ‘mainline’, ‘dregs’, ‘sleep around’ and ‘Judas’ – makes me worry about the crossword setter.

Aka Wednesday 26^th December 2018

…Boxing Day today and I got a couple more presents:

…watched ‘I Am Wrath’ and ‘In The Line Of Fire’, more of which were okay, they were competently written, directed, acted, etc, but there wasn’t anything special about them. 5/10 for each. But I will say that 'I Am Wrath' is a better 'Death Wish' remake than the recent 'Death Wish' remake with Bruce Willis.

…and I did the G2 Crossword:

…and it goes almost as well as Monday’s crossword, as I only had to cheat on a twelfth of the clues (two out of 24), I just couldn’t get ‘eject’ from ‘drive out’ or ‘sleuth’ from ‘detective who follows a trail’, it’s like Christmas as brought my crossword A game.

Today was Christmas Day and I got some presents:

…gave some presents and ate too much rich food and I didn’t do the G2 Crossword, as there is no crossword today as it’s Chrrrrrriiiiissssssmaaaaaassssss (as Slade pronounce Christmas)……
