Days 276 to 300

During these twenty-five days:

1. I had a Pay Day Pint and caught with some old colleagues.

2. I brought some CDs - Golden Teacher’s No Luscious Life LP (some nice post-disco tracks), Jungle Brothers’ Jungle Brother EP (which has a marvellous remix from Urban Takeover, one of the best remixes I’ve ever heard), Elvis’ Moody Blue LP (which had a few too many slow songs and not enough rockers), Monkey Mafia’s Blow The Whole Joint Up EP (a quality big beat track and remixes), Dawn People’s The Star Is Your Future LP (which I haven’t listened to yet), Lindstrom’s It's Alright Between Us As It Is LP (chok-a-block of that quality Lindstrom disco/house sound), Bill Brewster’s Tribal Rites LP (which I haven’t listened to yet, but it has had great write ups), Intercity Crawl 97, Cast’s History single and the Penthouse Remix EP (these were got for the Lo-Fidelity Allstars tracks, an odd cover of Diamonds Are Forever and epic remixes of Cast’s History track and Penthouse’s White Coal), Noel Gallagher’s Who Built The Moon? LP (the first Noel solo album where I can remember the tracks hours after listening to the album, the first two albums were ok, but weren’t memorable) and listened to the Red Axes’ Ballad Of The Ice and The Beach Goths LPs (some nice post-disco, gothy house tracks).

3.There were 3 New Comic Book Days:

and I actually read some of the excellent comics I brought, including more 2000AD partworks:

4. Brought some DVDs - South Park S20 (an ok season, but I didn’t like how episodic it was and think it would have been better if there had been standalone episodes), Baby Driver (a nice pop-culture driver movie), Poirot Feature Length Collection (TV movie versions of Murder On The Orient Express, Death On The Nile and The ABC Murders, although they aren’t as spectacular looking as the cinema films, they are very good and I think this version of Murder On… may be better than the cinema version), Spider-Man: Homecoming (finally a decent Spider-Man film), Kiss The Girls and Along Came A Spider (decent crime thrillers starring Morgan Freeman), Prisoners (has a great cast and tackles a very sensitive issue, missing children, very well) and Fright Night (the remake, which is pretty decent and almost as good as the original Fright Night).

5. I’ve been having a touch of tooth pain, it’s not a constant pain, it just happens every now and then and goes up and down the top right-hand side row of teeth. So, I went to my Dentist, explained this to him, he checked and found a small hole. The hole was filled, but I’m still getting these flitting pangs of tooth pain. I’m hoping it’s just the pain you get after a filling, but if it isn’t I’m going to have to go back. Hooray!

6. I had my ENT clinic appointment and they couldn’t find anything wrong with me from an ENT POV, although the consultant did say that in 25% of cases they couldn’t find the problem. So, I’m either fine or part of the 25! Next step is to go back to my GP and, I guess, explore it being an anxiety problem, rather than a physiological problem.

7. My copy of the Dark Ages zine arrived. This zine has been put together by people who attended the recent JAMs event in Liverpool. I’m saving reading it until I’ve read 2023, so I’ll let you know how it is shortly.

8. I watched Punisher Season One on Netflix, which I really enjoyed and unlike the other Marvel Netflix series, it didn’t feel like the season had been padded out to fit the number of episodes.

9. I woke early on the morning of Sun 19th November, around 3am, and felt really, really dizzy and this lasted all day (but slowly reduced as time went on) and I still felt somewhat dizzy for the rest of the week. Not nice.
